February is commonly associated with love and affectionately known as the month of love.

In a bizarre incident in Hatcliffe, a yet to be identified woman was beaten to a pulp until she eventually collapsed and died according to word on the street.

In an act of mob vigilantism, it is being said that the wife of the man she was in a relationship with, mobilized a group of her ruthless friends to exact revenge on the victim.

Watching the video circulating on social media platforms one would think the women were a group of mixed martial artists attacking a defenseless victim who was outrageously outnumbered. The blows being thrown, kicks and pantsing were entertainment to onlookers who are heard laughing in the video while the now deceased was crying out for help until an unidentified man ran to her aid.

It is still a developing story and the Zimbabwe Republic Police have not yet issued a statement or released the names of the people who participated in the vile act or confirmed her death.

This is an incident that makes one wonder what is left of humanity? Even if she was wrong, why was there no one to help before she became visibly weak? Why were men laughing instead of helping out? Is it okay to traumatize children who were watching all in the name of social media? What has our society turned to?

As we wait on more information from the police, we will also be looking for more light on the matter.
