Trial date for two prominent Harare businessmen set

The trial date for the two prominent Harare figures who allegedly defrauded  the Presidential Goats Scheme of a sum of USD7,7 Million,has been set for the 1st of October 2024 to the 4th of October 2024 at the Harare High Court. Chimombe and Mpofu,who are being represented by lawyers Ashley Mugiya and Tapson Dzvetero are being accused of misrepresentation by forging documents in order to win the tender  of supplying goats under the Presidential Goat Scheme. It is further alleged that their company Blackdeck (Pvt) Ltd did not have a valid tax clearance and that the QR Code and reference certificate were issued to a different company whereas Blackdeck (Pvt) Ltd had been de-registered from NSSA’s system in January of 2016.
