Putting into account the misleading information that has been circulating in regards to recruitment, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) has brought to attention that the message being broadcast is fake.
In her official statement Chief Superintendent Meya Khanyezi the National Public Relations Officer said, “Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) brings to your attention a matter of utmost importance regarding a fake recruitment message that has been circulating recently. We want to assure you that the information contained in this message is completely false and misleading”.
She advised on the ZPCS Official Recruitment Channels and said, “We would like to clarify that ZPCS conducts its recruitment processes through official channels, which include mainstream media and our official online platforms. These platforms are carefully monitored and managed to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the recruitment process”.
She said, “Beware of False Email Address:
The fake recruitment message advises potential recruits to submit their documents to the email address “zpcsintake@gmail.com.” We want to categorically state that ZPCS does not own or operate this email address. It is imperative that members of the public refrain from sending any personal information or documents to this email address, as it is not associated with ZPCS in any way”.
Chief Supt Khanyezi also said that, ” for accurate and reliable information regarding ZPCS recruitment, we strongly advise you to refer to our official channels. These include our Twitter account with the username ZPCS_PR and our Facebook page, “Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service.” Any updates or announcements regarding recruitment will be posted on these platforms”.
She also gave the contact details of ZPCS saying, “If you have any further questions or require additional information, we encourage you to reach out to the ZPCS National Public Relations Office. You can contact us directly at 024 762724 or 0714239142. Our dedicated team will be more than happy to assist you and address any concerns you may have”.
The issue of the fake message is being looked into as a priority and she says, “We take the issue of misleading recruitment messages very seriously and are working diligently to ensure that the public is well-informed and protected from such fraudulent activities. We appreciate your cooperation in spreading awareness about this matter and urge you to share this message with your friends, family, and acquaintances”.
Scams have since taken a new look and it is advisable that one should always verify sources before to avoid falling in a trap.
