Thousands of people braved the chilly whether as they attended the shutdown performance of the 114th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) 2024. The stage was set for a performance that would further testify to Winky D’s (a.k.a The Gaffer) status as the undisputed “Greatest of All Time” (GOAT) in the Dancehall genre.
Warming up the stage was a splendid performance by Killer T sampling some of his hit songs including the popular hit song Kana Ndanyura amongst others. The dynamic and exhilarating Chillspot Records Team, DJ Fantan, DJ Levels and DJ Ribe driving the crowds into a frenzy with various local mixes.
Winky D heightened the hype. Clad in a black and gold attire, driving the diverse crowd into a frenzy, singing and dancing along to every beat through his signature. “MaGaffer, munenge murikutoda (you seem to be eager to participate),” commented as he cheered on the singing crowds. The energy in the arena was certainly worth the while for the diverse crowd of all ages, comprising a significant number of women and children who had eagerly awaited his arrival.
Aptly titling the last segment of the show “Let’s Sing Together,” Winky D seamlessly integrated the crowd into the performance, allowing them to provide the backing vocals for tracks such as Iyeye, Idya Mari and Happy Again amongst others. The Gaffer indeed lived up to the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) of Dancehall billing, as he effortlessly commanded the stage and captivated the hearts the massive crowd, leaving them in awe.
